Trémolat is a medieval village of enormous charm and is home to five lovely restaurants – the Vieux Logis 4 star Hotel with its renowned Michelin starred restaurant provides a wonderful gastronomic tour of the local cuisine, while the Bistrot de la Place, pizzeria, Nulle Part Ailleurs and Les Tartines which offers “Fastfood Périgourdin”, are all situated around the village square with shady terraces to enjoy those summer evenings. During the season the bar / restaurant Les Berges serves brasserie dishes and drinks at the campsite on the banks of the river and there is also a cafe/wine bar in the village selling regional produce.
As well as these great dining options, the small, but well stocked, L’Epicerie du Village is just a few minutes walk from the gite (next to the Pizzeria). As well as all the usual supplies, it also houses a ‘depot du pain’ – you are advised to pre-order, a day or so in advance, to collect freshly baked bread supplied by the boulangerie in Ste. Alvere.
During the summer season, some basic provisions can also be obtained from the Campsite shop at the Bassin Nautique just off the main road.
The railway station. which connections to both Bergerac and Sarlat-la-Caneda, is a 2 minute drive from the village centre, with good parking. The village hosts a small weekly market and various seasonal activities, including brocantes, and evening ‘marchés gourmands’, featuring street food and live music, during July and August.
Every Wednesday evening (open all year round), our ‘Café Village’ hosts a fish & chip van (The Dordogne Chippy*), plus other food trucks in the summer months, with live music and a bar – an opportunity for locals and visitors alike to gather, enjoy the music and perhaps even some dancing! *we advise food is ordered beforehand online
